When it comes to software, an end-to-end solution is used to describe a system that addresses all the needs and processes of a business in a centralised database. For this reason, logistics <em>end-to-end<\/em> is an essential concept in supply chain management, ranging from the procurement of raw materials to the delivery of the final product to the customer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an increasingly interconnected world, understanding how logistics work <em>end-to-end<\/em> is essential for logistics operators and for any organisation wishing to improve the efficiency of its supply chain. However, there is still work to be done to raise awareness of the importance of supply chain optimisation. A proof of this is the analysis made by the <a href=\"https:\/\/thelogisticsworld.com\/actualidad-logistica\/95-de-las-companias-no-lograra-una-supply-chain-resiliente-end-to-end-gartner\/\">Gartner consultancy<\/a> on how companies plan to invest in this area, noting that only 5% of brands have embraced the change to monetise their <em>supply chain<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key components of logistics<em> end-to-end<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \"end-to-end\" process, or popularly known in English as the <em>end-to-end<\/em> (E2E), involves the entire supply chain management process that begins with the procurement of materials from suppliers, and ends when the product reaches the customer. This entire process needs to be tracked with data logging and item condition monitoring, the data extracted from which needs to be analysed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In most cases, E2E supply chains will follow this formula:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Procurement of raw materials<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The process begins with the procurement of raw materials or components needed to manufacture a product. This stage involves the selection of reliable suppliers, contract negotiation and inventory management to ensure the availability of raw materials.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Inventory management<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To ensure that the necessary materials are in stock, good warehousing and inventory management are fundamental to logistics.<em> end-to-end<\/em>. This practice ensures that the products are available to meet market demand without generating excess <em>stock<\/em>shortages or obsolescence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Production and manufacturing<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the materials are ready, product start-up is critical in the supply chain. At this stage, raw materials are transformed into final products. Efficiency at this stage is essential to keep costs low and delivery times short.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Distribution and transport<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the products are ready, the distribution phase begins. This involves route planning, selection of means of transport and coordination of shipments to get the orders to the points of sale or directly to the customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Order management and customer service<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Customer satisfaction implies good management of the order, from the moment it is placed, the follow-up of the shipment and the resolution of problems that may arise in this management, always keeping consumers informed and satisfied until the order arrives in their hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Collaboration in a challenging environment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the logistics <em>end-to-end<\/em> does not end with delivery. It also includes the management of returns and returns. Companies must have efficient policies and processes in place to manage returned products and ensure customer satisfaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These elements work together to ensure that products reach their destination in a timely and efficient manner. This requires collaboration between supply chain teams to provide a collaborative tiered planning and management solution. In addition, cooperation between teams, warehouses, suppliers and stakeholders is necessary for better supply chain visibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Importance of vision <em>end-to-end<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interdepartmental cooperation is essential for the optimisation of the supply chain to become a reality. Therefore, if this premise is fulfilled, the logistical<em> end-to-end<\/em> will bring a number of benefits that will be reflected in various ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Operational efficiency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Customer satisfaction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cost reduction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Greater flexibility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Competitive advantage<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is End to End Testing (E2E)?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a technique used to test whether the flow of an application used in the <em>supply chain<\/em> from start to finish, is behaving as expected. The purpose of performing this test is to identify the dependencies that the system has and to ensure that data integrity is maintained between the various components. In other words, it will behave like a user accessing our application and will detect if something is not working correctly according to the indications given to the test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The model <em>end-to-end<\/em> aims to have a positive impact on business growth and sustainability. Thanks to the integration of the departments, working together as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insidelogistics.com\/en\/crossdocking\/\">links in a chain<\/a> to achieve the departmental and overall objectives of an organisation. Therefore, the importance of this methodology cannot be underestimated as companies seek to gain a competitive advantage in a highly demanding global marketplace.
